CURRENT CLINICAL INVESTIGATIONS
Natural cycle IVF-ET
This treatment modality provides IVF-ET at a very low cost without the use of any fertility medication.
Minimal stimulation IVF-ET
This treatment modality provides IVF-ET at a low cost with minimal use of fertility medication.
Total freeze of embryos during IVF-ET
This protocol proposes total freeze of all embryos (blastocysts) and subsequent transfer of such embryos in natural or medicated cycles. The protocol eliminates severe hyperstimulation syndrome in patients at risk of such condition, such as females with polycystic ovary disease (PCOS). Recent data suggests that this protocol may also improve pregnancy rates and reproductive outcome in patients with implantation failure. This protocol is also offered at a low cost.
Use of GnRH analogue agonist as a trigger shot
This protocol is being used in patients at risk of severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (PCOS) to eliminate the risk of this potentially dangerous syndrome during IVF-ET. The protocol uses GnRH analogue agonist (Lupron) instead of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) as a trigger shot.
Use of vaginal progesterone supplementation during IVF-ET
This protocol explores the use of vaginal progesterone supplementation during IVF-ET treatment instead of the painful intramascular progesterone injections.
Repeated implantation failure after IVF-ET
This investigation explores the possible determental effect of uterine anomalies such as uterine septum and uterine abnormalities such as fibroids and endometrial polyps on the outcome of infertility treatment including IVF-ET. This investigation utilizes state of the art three-dimensional ultrasonography for detection of such anomalies and abnormalities, and minimally invasive surgery (hysteroscopy) for surgical correction of such anomalies and abnormalities.
Recurrent pregnancy loss
This investigation explores the possible effect of uterine anomalies such as uterine septum, uterine abnormalities such as fibroids and endometrial polyps on recurrent miscarriage. This investigation utilizes state of the art three-dimensional ultrasonography for detection of such anomalies and abnormalities, and minimally invasive surgery (hysteroscopy) for surgical correction of such anomalies and abnormalities.
Bad Obstetric history
This investigation explores the possible association between uterine anomalies such as uterine septum, uterine abnormalities such as fibroids and endometrial polyps on bad obstetric history. Bad obstetric history may include preterm labor, premature rupture membrane and antepartum and postpartum hemorrhage. This investigation utilizes state of the art three-dimensional ultrasonography for detection of such anomalies and abnormalities, and minimally invasive surgery (hysteroscopy) for surgical correction of such anomalies and abnormalities.
Preimplantation Genetics Screening (PGS) for patients with repeated implantation failure after IVF-ET
This investigation explores the possible association between abnormal embryos and repeated implantation failure. We utilize state of the art equipment and highly trained scientists in the IVF laboratory for detection and treatment of this condition.
Preimplantation Genetics Screening (PGS) in patients with advanced maternal age
This investigation explores the adverse effects of advanced maternal age on the quality of embryos generated during IVF-ET. We utilize state of the art equipment and highly trained scientists in the IVF laboratory for improving the outcome of IVF-ET in this age group.
Preimplantation Genetics Screening (PGS) in patients with recurrent pregnancy loss
This investigation explores the possible association between chromosomal abnormalities of embryos in couples with recurrent miscarriage. We utilize state of the art equipment and highly trained scientists in the IVF laboratory for detection and possible improvement of reproductive outcome in couples experiencing such problem.
DaVinci Robotic assisted laparoscopic myomectomy
We are currently collecting data on reproductive outcome after DaVinci Robotic assisted laparoscopic myomectomy for minimally invasive surgical treatment of uterine fibroids.
Temporary ovarian suspension after conservative laparoscopic surgery for patients with endometriosis
This minimally invasive surgical procedure was introduced by Dr. Abuzeid for reducing scar tissue formation after laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis related infertility and pelvic pain.
